Sean Hodges is the founder of ChangeU, a consultancy redefining leadership by treating workplace dysfunction at its roots. A Cleveland native and finance graduate of The Ohio State University, Sean began his career at firms like Deloitte—but it was his lived experience, not corporate training, that showed him how toxic leadership silently erodes performance, culture, and mental health.
That realization led to the founding of ChangeU, a therapeutic leadership consultancy that replaces outdated management tactics with evidence-based, human-centered practices. Using the Therapeutic Leadership Survey developed in coordination with NAMI, Good Samaritan Hospital, New York University, and other Mental Health professionals—Sean helps leadership teams diagnose pain points and build cultures that retain talent, reduce burnout, and deliver sustainable performance while balancing employee wellness.
ChangeU equips leaders with therapeutic leadership strategies that balance people and performance. It addresses the root causes of burnout, disconnection, and high turnover by teaching leaders how to manage not just workflows—but people, psychology, and power dynamics. The mission: to reverse the 40% rise in workplace-related mental health issues this decade by changing how we lead from the inside out.
As he works on his first book, Sean continues to challenge the leadership status quo while building systems that are just as therapeutic as they are high-performing. A portion of ChangeU’s proceeds supports mental health programs for young men, ensuring that the next generation leads with strength, clarity, and care.
Sean is currently working on his first book while continuing to expand ChangeU’s footprint across sectors. A portion of all revenue supports mental health initiatives for young men—because Sean believes that the ability to lead others starts with the capacity to care for yourself.
